Hey Internet! It is Monday again. How does Monday always come so quickly?!? I don’t understand it.
Anyway, I hope your weekend was fantastic and I hope that your week proves short. I should because – 4th of July!!! YAY for four day weeks!
I had a pretty nice weekend time! Friday night Old Roommate and I got some Thai Food (well I forgot my wallet, so Old Roommate got us Thai food, and we spent the rest of the night making Sugar Daddy jokes) and some booze and watched the premier of Girl Meets World. I am a HUGE Boy Meets World fan, so I was both looking forward to and dreading the new show.
It was… not horrible… Cory definitely carried the show, and the whole ‘world’ motif was over done, but it had its moments. Some of it was pretty funny, and the nostalgia factor was pretty good. I’m definitely going keep my mind open and keep watching.
Saturday morning I took the Metra into the city and met wit a good friend from college. We went to a coffee house called Dollop and got ICED NUTELLA LATTES and HONEY LAVENDAR SCONES and THEY. WERE. AWESOME.
I spent the train ride reading Rhinestone Jesus: Saying Yes to God When, Sparkly, Safe Faith Is No Longer Enough by Kristen Welch, and Oh. My. Gosh. You guys. Kristen is a mom blogger in Texas who founded Mercy House, a home for pregnant girls in Kenya. It is super inspiring and convicting. I read 81% of it this weekend, and it is making me totally think about how I am living. I think I am going to read 7: An Experimental Mutiny Against Excess by Jen Hatmaker next, so I foresee and giant donation spree in my near future.
My coffee date on Saturday was super refreshing and it made me so thankful for the amazing women in my life. I have a number of friends that I’ve struggled to keep up with, not because I don’t treasure them but because I am a super introvert and that is one area in my life that I struggle. It is so wonderful to be able to get together even after it has been WAY too long and pick up where we left off. I am so thankful for these friends, because even when I fall so short at keeping in touch and loving them as well as I should, they show me so much grace and understand how crazy hectic life can be (most of the time because it is just as crazy and hectic for them).
I spent the rest of my Saturday reading and chilling and watching netflix and starting the packing process for vacation. (There is just four days between me and magic magic Disney World). Sunday my mom and I got some breakfast ran some errands and picked up some stuff we needed for vacation. Then we spent the rest of the day just lounging – something I super needed because I’m not sure when my next day of rest is going to be -Disney vacations are not relaxing y’all! I read some more Rhinestone Jesus and painted my nails and tried out a face mask I got from Target.
How was your weekend, internet? I’m going to try to post again this week and then my good friend Jackie is going to be around telling some of my very favorite stories while I am away! Get excited – she has a writing degree, so she will be way more better and sentences and stuff!
