I am FINALLY ready to post about Easter. I have been SUPER tired since this weekend and been having the caffeine headaches, so I apologize that it had taken so long.
ANYWAYS for the first time I think ever, my mom and I hosted Easter at our house. We spent Friday night planning the menu grocery shopping. I stayed up really late that night doing basically nothing at all.
On Saturday we did some Easter cleaning and I drank a ton of coffee and we did some meal prep for the next day. After some major clean up and a trip to goodwill, I took a shower and got spiffed up for the Saturday Easter service at my church. I am relatively new to the church I currently attend and had never been to one of their Easter services.
Boy was it something. Upon arriving, the smell of popcorn hit me in the face parts. They were giving out popcorn and cotton candy and glow sticks and posters and just getting REALLY PUMPED to celebrate the fact that Jesus is alive. It was a great service and really put me in the headspace to remember the reason we celebrate Easter.
I stayed up way too late on Saturday as well and went with my mom to the church I grew up in for their Easter service. Going to two Easter services is great, because you get to put together two Easter outfits! And I am a sucker for an Easter dress! I forgot to take pictures, but these are approximate recreations of my Easter outfits (both dresses are exact, the accessories are approximate):

After church we went home and I opened my Easter present. My mom’s family gives presents for every major holiday well into adulthood. This year my mom KILLED IT. I got a mustache scarf, a coral needed necklace and a Peter Pan decoration that I have loved for a long time.
Then we cooked. And I drank lots of coffee. I am pretty proud of the meal we made. It was definitely a step up from our usual Easter fare.
We roasted Cornish Hens and made had Sea Salt-and-Vinegar Green Bean Salad, Goat Cheese Mashed Sweet Potatoes, and Asparagus with Tarragon Sauce. It was all very good and we were very full. After that we cleaned up, had more coffee (I seriously drank so much coffee this weekend) and then we ate some of my Grandma’s cheesecake, and visited with my grandparents.
After that my grandparents left and my mom and I watched some Disney movies on abc family.
It was a pretty good Easter.
How did you spend your Easter Internet?
